The play reflects the circumstances of a society characterized by immediacy and the digital world.
It takes place at home on an ordinary afternoon and evening, after the main character returns from work. At that moment, a stage of ambivalence is created between the demanding work environment and the liberation found in a nightclub.
Audience members enter a black box with wireless headphones, without a fixed boundary with the stage. The music is performed live by a DJ on stage. The sound is transmitted through a network that the audience uses to connect their individual wireless headphones. In this way, the connection to the dancer’s performance becomes more intimate, yet still virtual.

A musical and theatrical performance that explores possible experiences for a person with mental health challenges. It reflects the different perspectives of reality while learning to live with the suffering of the soul. Through the diverging and reorganizing power of art—in this case, music and dance—it proves to be both palliative and healing.

The work is performed by a pianist and a dancer who together interpret Robert Schumann’s Fantasies (Op.12). This German Romantic artistic heritage transcends the mental suffering Schumann himself endured throughout his life. The staging is inspired by the formal and melodic contrasts present in the different movements of the Fantasiestücke, which the composer makes visible to us.

Connected is a project that intertwines the worlds of dance in a passionate dialogue between bodies and souls. On one side, flamenco, with its overwhelming force and deep emotional intensity; on the other, contemporary dance, flowing freely without the constraints of convention, seeking a new language to express the inexpressible.

In this encounter, both styles discover and embrace each other, revealing that at their core they share the same impulses: passion, loneliness, joy, uncertainty, pain, beauty…

The title Connected evokes the magic of this union, where every step, turn, and touch of the floor becomes an invisible link that connects the visceral with the ethereal, creating an eternal dialogue between forms of life. These art forms come together in a choreographic embrace, revealing the beauty of the unexpected and the depth of what words cannot explain.

Connected premiered at Aliasteatern in Stockholm on February 28, 2025, with reviews such as:

“Connection through movement.” – Swedish Dance Magazine

“Their differences are interesting, embracing each other’s expressions.” – Swedish Dance Magazine

“Danced poetry.” – Audience

“Deeply moving, breathtaking!” – Audience

What happens when two such opposite elements are related? Water and fire are two natural elements that are active and visible energy of our expression. The energy of water is sensitivity, emotion, connection with our internal world. Sometimes the water feels like an internal tsunami and other times like lake water, beautiful and contemplative. While the energy of Fire is radiant, it shines, it gives heat, passion; with the need to be looked at and recognized. What happens when fire tries to get close to water? Can the flame be kept active in the face of such an opposite element? Can the union between opposites be maintained? Opposites always attract?
